2020-2021 Development Updates:
- New Penagos pulper and processing station
- Off-estate drying facilities to handle the increased Indian green coffee output, and cooler temps at the estate during easy harvest
- Soil amendments which are intended to lift sweetness, body, and acidity in the 2021 crop of Indian green coffee beans
- Construction of an Estate lab
- The commencement of the project to change the shade trees from Silver oak to local Dadaps which will provide better Organic matter from leaf drop
- New composting program directed by the Consultant Soils Engineer, Brazilian Fernando Janini

Modern-day Specialty Indian Green Coffee Beans
Thriveni Brooklyn Estate is compiled of 200 acres in the Sheveroyan region of Tamilnadu, South India. This shade grown estate is well-maintained with a natural stream, lake, and an abundance of natural flora and fauna. The Estate has been working to achieve self-sustainability over the last 3 years and expect to reach this goal by 2026.
The Estate was established between 1820-1829 and is located at 1600 MASL in the revered India green coffee growing region of the Shevaroy Hills of Tamil Nadu state in Southern India. This estate, originally established by a British family, was first known at Brooklyn estate. In 2015, it landed back into Indian ownership and has been renamed Thriveni Brooklyn Estate.
Awards:
Brooklyn Estate had been honored with the FLAVOR OF INDIA – THE FINE CUP
AWARD in 2016-2017 in the category of BEST ARABICA OF SHEVEROYS REGION (Plantation Bulk) held at Dublin, Ireland and conducted by the COFFEE BOARD OF INDIA.
In 2019-20, Brooklyn Estate placed 7th & 8th in the new format of the competition on an all India green coffee basis held in Berlin, Germany.
