About the estate
A sister estate, with its own terroir.
Bunum Wo sits in the same Wahgi Valley as Sigri Estate — the same direct relationships, the same rigorous standards — but its own elevation, shade cover, and microclimate give it a distinct character in the cup.
Bunum Wo supports a strong social agenda that provides housing, healthcare, and schooling to the coffee pickers and farmers who help produce these coffees — grown at over 4,500 feet elevation, with soil and water conservation treated as a priority throughout the estate.
Growing & processing
Grown and processed like Sigri — with its own terroir.
Bunum Wo shares Sigri’s medium-density shade strategy and bird-friendly growing conditions, providing habitat for at least 90 species of birds, and follows the same rigorous wet-factory process: hand-picked and checked for uniformity, pulped the same day, a three-day fermentation with a further day of total immersion, 21 days of conditioning, then destoning, hulling, grading, and sorting.
Character in the cup
Same process, its own result.
Where Sigri tends toward red apple, dark chocolate, and tamarind, Bunum Wo’s Kula-processed peaberry lots bring brown sugar, chocolate, and a clean, sweet finish — a distinct expression of the same rigorous standards.
Checked at every stage
All grades are continuously sample-roasted and cupped at the estate level, and again by our quality control team in Chicago — a final check during processing, before shipment, and upon arrival in America.
